Illinois Campaign Finance Reform Task Force

The Campaign Finance Reform Task force was created by Public Act 96-832, to conduct a thorough review of the implementation of campaign finance reform legislation in the State of Illinois, and the feasibility of implementing a mechanism of campaign finance regulation that would subsidize political campaigns in exchange for voluntary adherence to specified expenditure limitations.

The Task Force is holding public hearings on the issue of Public Financing. The first was on November 28th in Springfield You can read our testimony here.

The second will be held in Chicago on December 15th at 10:30at the Thompson Center, 100 W. Randolph, Chicago, IL 60601.

The Task Force consists of 11 members. Two each appointed by the Speaker of the House, the House Minority Leader, the Senate President and the Senate Minority Leader. Three members are appointed by the Governor, including the chair.
