Interested in a Winter/Spring internship at ICPR? Here's your chance!

ICPR is flexible and willing to work around other obligations though we ask that interns be available for at least 15 hours each week for the duration of the 15 week internship. The internship is set to begin January 9th and end the week of April 16th.  Generally we are able to provide a modest stipend to interns for their work or course credit can be earned upon approval of instructor.  Interns will be supervised by Nelly Viramontes but will have the opportunity to work closely with all ICPR staff members and interns.

Tell Gov. Quinn to defend Illinois’ Freedom of Information Act!

In their final workdays in May, lawmakers in Springfield approved a rollback to the state’s open records law, known as the Freedom of Information Act. This important state law is designed to guarantee residents have access to government records – after all, they’re funded by you, the taxpayer!

But the bill that lawmakers approved – House Bill 1716 – would roll back the public’s ability to access records in a timely fashion.

A Special Appeal From Cindi Canary

Dear Friend,
As you may know, May 27, 2011 will mark my final day as Director of the Illinois Campaign for Political Reform. When I announced that I would be stepping aside after fourteen years with ICPR, the news was met with an outpouring of support from friends and colleagues which has moved me to reflect on what my time at ICPR has meant, how far we’ve come and the work that is left to be done.

I believe our founding Chairman, the late Senator Paul Simon would be very proud of ICPR's success and remind us that now is the time to redouble our efforts.
