Chicago Automobile Trade Association

The Chicago Automobile Trade Association (CATA) has produced the Chicago Auto Show since 1935. The Chicago Automobile Trade Association is in its 103rd year, with more than 800 franchised new car dealers and allied members in the Chicago and northwest Indian metropolitan area. The organization represents dealerships that employ more than 56,000 people. CATA opposes legislation that would release full accident reports to potential used car buyers.

Through December 31, 2005, the Chicago Automobile Trade Association has contributed $345,000 to candidates for statewide constitutional and legislative office, 57% of which has been contributed to Democrats.
