Chicago Automobile Trade Association
The Chicago Automobile Trade Association (CATA) has produced the
Chicago Auto Show since 1935. The Chicago Automobile Trade Association
is in its 103rd year, with more than 800 franchised new car dealers
and allied members in the Chicago and northwest Indian metropolitan
area. The organization represents dealerships that employ more than
56,000 people. CATA opposes legislation that would release full
accident reports to potential used car buyers.
Through December 31, 2005, the Chicago Automobile Trade Association
has contributed $345,000 to candidates for statewide constitutional
and legislative office, 57% of which has been contributed to Democrats.
