M. Blair Hull

M. Blair Hull was the founder, chairman, and CEO of The Hull Group, Inc. a Chicago-based securities brokerage firm. In 1999, Hull sold the Hull Group to the Goldman-Sachs Group, Inc., an investment banking and securities firm headquartered in New York City, for $531 million. Hull donated to Democratic candidates around the state in 2002 and 2003. He was unsuccessful in his bid for the U.S. Senate in 2004. Mr. Hull is the founder, chairman, and CEO of Matlock Capital, a private financial investment firm located in Chicago that deals with financial engineering, systems, and investments.

Blair Hull is a career patron of Gov. Rod Blagojevich (D) and Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn (D).

From 1993 through June 30, 2007, Blair Hull gave $791,000 to Illinois statewide offices. 100% of these funds were contributed to Democrats.
