Edwin Eisendrath Family & Companies

Edwin Eisendrath III served as Alderman of ChicagoÕs 43rd Ward and later as an official in the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development during the Clinton Administration, before becoming Vice Presdient of Academic Affairs at Kendall College in Chicago. Other politically active family members include his father, who died in July, 2006 and was retired from a vice presidency at First National Bank of Chicago; John Eisendrath, a brother who works as a write/producer for ABC Television; his mother, Susan Manilow; and his step-father, Lew Manilow, an art collector, national Democratic fundraiser and retired real estate developer. He sought the Democratic nomination for governor in 2006, losing to Rod Blagojevich. Seven-tenths of the funds for his 2006 gubernatorial bid came from the candidate or his family.
