Corboy & Demetrio

Corboy & Demetrio is a law firm specializing in representing plaintiffs who have been injured. Both of the main partners, Philip H. Corboy and Thomas A. Demetrio, are past presidents of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association. Corboy is widely regarded as the dean of the Illinois trial bar, having once employed many of the current heads of other prominent personal injury law firms. The street between the Cook County Courthouse and the offices of Corboy & Demetrio has been designated ÒPhil Corboy WayÓ by the City of Chicago. The firm, known nationally for its work in aviation crash cases, has secured over 500 verdicts and settlements of $1 million or more since 1974. Corboy is a member of the ÒInner Circle of Advocates,Ó an invitation-only group of what is described as the nationÕs 100 best plaintiff attorneys as well.

Corboy & Demetrio is a career patron of Attorney General Lisa Madigan (D) and House Speaker Michael Madigan (D).

From January 1, 1993 through June 30, 2006, Corboy & Demetrio and its partners contributed a total of $1,007,000 to candidates for Illinois statewide constitutional, legislative and appellate judicial office ($359,000 by Corboy & Demetrio, and $648,000 from the Partners of Corboy & Demetrio). 96% of these funds went to Democrats.
