CNA Citizens for Good Government

CNA Citizens for Good Government is the PAC representing CNA Financial Corporation, the second-largest insurer of U.S. businesses. In 2001 CNA posted revenues of $13.2 billion. Asbestos-related claims and the WTC attacks resulted in a $1.6 net loss last year. In response, CNA has overhauled its property-casualty and life insurance operations, cutting 1,850 jobs in the process.

CNA Citizens for Good Government is a career patron of former Senate President James "Pate" Philip (R).

Between 1993 and 2001, CNA Citizens for Good Government gave $501,227 to candidates for Illinois statewide constitutional and legislative office, 84% of which was contributed to Republicans.
