Birck, Michael J
Michael J. Birck, one of the six original founders of Tellabs
Inc., was president and CEO of Tellabs for more than 25 years and
is now the company's chairman. Headquartered in Naperville, Tellabs
designs, manufactures, markets and services special telecommunications
equipment. Tellabs had more than $3 billion in sales in 2000.
Michael J. Birck is a career patron of former gubernatorial candidate
Jim Ryan (R).
From 1993 to 2002, Michael J. Birck contributed $147,000 to candidates
for Illinois statewide constitutional and legislative office, all
to Republicans.
