A. Finkl & Sons, based in Chicago, manufactures die blocks for closed die forging, plastic mold and die casting die steels, custom open die forgings, and forge shop and steel mill repair parts. A. Finkl is privately owned and has more than 425 employees. The company’s combined domestic and international sales are in excess of $100 million per year. Gov. Rod Blagojevich's late father was employed at A. Finkl and Sons. Their forge at Southport and Cortland avenues in Chicago is in a TIF district. In 2007, A. Finkl was acquired by Scnmolz+Bickenback AG, headquartered in Germany. They have announced plans to move the foundry to a to-be-determined location.

A. Finkl & Sons is a career patron of Gov. Rod Blagojevich (D).

From 1993 through June 30, 2007, A. Finkl & Sons and its employees gave a combined $452,000 to candidates for Illinois statewide constitutional and legislative office. 100% of these funds contributed to Democrats.
