Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM), founded as a linseed crushing business in 1902, is now one of the largest international food providers in the world. Its business includes growth, processing, production, commodities management, and shipping. Headquartered in Decatur, Illinois, ADM has over 25,000 employees worldwide, more than 268 processing plants, and net sales for the 2005 fiscal year of $35.9 billion. Subsidiaries include American River Transportation Company and ADM Trucking.
