ICPR Settles Complaints with Justice for All Foundation
It was nearly a year ago when ICPR filed complaints against Justice for All and the Coalition for Jobs Growth and Prosperity over their fundraising practices in the 2004 election cycle.  Now ICPR is proud to announce that we have reached a settlement with one of those groups.  Justice for All has agreed to disclose the names of their donors.  That's the good news.  The bad news is that the Coalition continues to insist that robust public discourse is possible when some in the debate refuse to admit to who they are.  ICPR is prepared to tough it out to preserve the principle that disclosure matters.  For press coverage of the settlement, see the St. Louis Post Dispatch story, and ICPR's blog.  For more on the settlement, including names of JFA's donors, please visit ICPR's website.

Support ICPR
Every issue of Spotcheck includes the Support ICPR graphic at the bottom.  But this time of year, as people consider end-of-the-year charitable donations, we hope you will give particular consideration to ICPR.  ICPR is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization; donations are fully deductible to the extent allowed by law.  And your support will allow us to remain Illinois' pre-eminent non-partisan, non-endorsing voice for clean government and elections.

ICPR Spotcheck is a publication of The Illinois Campaign for Political Reform, a non-partisan public interest group that educates, conducts research, and advocates reforms to promote public participation in government, address the role of money in politics, and encourage integrity, accountability, and transparency in government.
