WHERE DO THE CANDIDATES STAND ON CAMPAIGN AND ETHICS REFORM?

We asked the candidates where they stand on important government and campaign reform issues, and today their answers are posted on our web site for all voters to see before the election.

Go to www.ilcampaign.org to find out what the candidates say about banning gifts to public officials, creating a strong State Board of Ethics, placing limits on the size of campaign contributions by individuals and PACs, prohibiting campaign donations by businesses regulated by the state, and many other key reform proposals.

All candidates for statewide office and all candidates for the General Assembly were asked 18 straightforward questions about government and election reform. Their answers are just a mouseclick away.

The Illinois Campaign for Political Reform (ICPR) is a non-partisan, not-for-profit organization dedicated to the reform of campaign finance and ethics laws. Since its creation in 1997 by former U.S. Sen. Paul Simon, ICPR has made it easier for voters to learn the sources of campaign contributions to candidates and how legislators have voted on legislation important to those special interests.

For more information, contact Cindi Canary, Director of ICPR, at 312-335-1767.
