92nd District: Aaron Schock
Editorial

Saturday, October 30, 2004
Aaron Schock, the Republican challenging incumbent Ricca Slone to represent Illinois' 92nd House District, lays it on the line in what has become one of the highest profile and - sadly - harshest legislative races in the state.
"If you have an incumbent who's representing the area, I don't matter," he says. "If you feel like you're getting good results with the current state representative, you should vote for her. If you think there's the potential to do better, you look at the challenger."
So has Slone done an effective job of advocating in Springfield for her constituents over the last 8 years?
The Sierra Club endorses her, as she's been "helpful and responsive" on their issues, said local chapter board member Joyce Blumenshine. Specifically, she cites wetlands legislation, Slone's work on behalf of the Illinois River and her efforts to combat urban sprawl. She also assisted in acquiring state park designation and funding for Wildlife Prairie Park.
