Yorktown Industries
In 2004, Yorktown Industries became Concord Supplies, a company that provides consumers with a variety of products including office supplies, printer supplies, office furniture, and consumer electronics. Kenneth W. Reick, the former President of Yorktown Industries, died in 1992. Prior to becoming Concord Supplies, Yorktown Industries distributed OEM toner products to such customers as Boise Cascade, Staples, and Corporate Express. Yorktown was once the largest producer of mouse pads in the world, handling storage and distribution for Microthin.com, a very successful company owned by 2002 Illinois Gubernatorial candidate Patrick O’Malley’s family member Daniel O’Malley, that makes thin and lightweight mouse pads used for advertising. The company was a pioneer in the copier industry, creating one of the first copy machines which it distributed under the Smith Corona, Bell and Howell, and A.B. Dick labels. The company was once a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sunbeam Corporation.
As of December 31, 2001, all political contributions made by Yorktown Industries had been given to unsuccessful gubernatorial candidate Patrick O'Malley (R).
