Rogers Park One-Day Surgery
Rogers Park One-Day Surgical Center is an outpatient clinic specializing in birth control information and family planning services. Raghuveer Nayak is President of Rogers Park Surgery Center. Additionally, Dr. Nayak owns a series of surgery centers on Chicago's north side. He is a prominent political fundraiser with ties to former Governor Blagojevich and Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. Rep. Jackson's brother Jonathan is a former business partner of Nayak. In 2008, Nayak was named as "Individual D" in the federal criminal complaint against former Governor Blagojevich. In question were alleged conversations that took place at a fundraiser Nayak held for Blagojevich in late 2008. In these conversations Nayak aksed prominent business leaders to raise money for former Governor Blagojevich's campaign fund in exchange for the appointment of Jesse Jackson Jr. to President Obama's vacant Senate seat. Former Governor Blagojevich allegedly asked Nayak to raise $1 million in campaign funds to guarantee the appointment. Although, not accused of any direct wrongdoing, Nayak sought immunity from federal authorities in return for his cooperation with the investigation.
From 1993 through June 30, 2008, Rogers Park One-Day Surgical Center gave $194,830 to candidates in Illinois, 100% of which was contributed to Democrats. During that same time, Nayak gave $24,700 in personal contributions.
