Piper Rudnick

DLA Piper is one of the largest law firms in the world, formed in 2005 through a merger that included Chicago-based Piper Rudnick LLP. DLA Piper has offices throughout the world, and Chicago remains as its largest U.S. location. The core areas of practice are real estate, finance, financial services and bankruptcy, litigation, franchise and distribution, intellectual property, REITS, and Real Estate Securitizations. DLA Piper represents more than half of the top 250 Fortune 500 companies. Former member of Congress and presidential candidate Richard Gephardt is senior counsel in the firm's Government Affairs department.  DLA Piper served as counsel for the Illinois Campaign for Political Reform in the filing of an amicus brief in Center for Individual Freedom v. Madigan et al (N.D. Ill. 2010).

Many partners at the Chicago firm give to DLA Piper’s PAC, based in Washington, DC.

From 1993 to 2001, DLA Piper contributed $129,000 to candidates for Illinois statewide constitutional and legislative office, 57% of which was given to Democrats. Since 2006, DLA Piper has given $148,157 to candidates in Illinois.
