Home Builders Assn of IL
The Home Builders Association of Illinois is a trade group representing residential construction companies and contractors. The group was concerned with the Employee Classification Act, which passed in 2007 and redefined "employees" and "independent contractors" for the purposes of unemployment and workers compensation insurance. They opposed the "Energy Efficiency Code" and supported legislation to ensure that changes in the building code made after a building permit is issued do not apply to that project. Most recently the HBAI orked with the Illinois State Bar Association to clarify the Home Remodal and Repair Act.
From 2003 through June 30, 2007 Home Builders Association of Illinois gave $793,000. 53% of these funds were contributed to Republicans.
Last revised June 2011.
