Stephens, Donald E. Committeeman Fund

Donald Stephens was the Republican committeeman of Leydon Township. From 1956 until his death in 2007 he also served as the Mayor of Rosemont, in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago near O'Hare Airport. Rosemont, with a population of approximately 4,000, hosts a reported 50,000 visitors a day at its various hotel, convention and entertainment facilities. Stephens, seeking to capitalize on his community's proximity to O'Hare, worked for years to have a riverboat casino located in Rosemont. Donald Stephens passed away on April 18, 2007 due to complications from stomach cancer.

The Donald Stephens Committeeman Fund is a career patron of Secretary of State Jesse White (D).

From 1993 through December 31, 2006, Donald Stephens gave $884,200 to Illinois statewide offices, 81% of which went to Republicans.
