Birck, Michael J
Michael J. Birck, one of the six original founders of Tellabs Inc., was president and CEO of Tellabs for more than 25 years and is now the company's chairman. Headquartered in Naperville, Tellabs designs, manufactures, markets and services special telecommunications equipment. Tellabs had $1.64 billion in revenue for 2010. Michael Birck is the Director of the Purdue Research Foundation and is a senior member of the Dean's Advisory Council of the Krannert School of Management. He also serves as an Emeritus member of the Board of Directors at the Lincoln Foundation for Performance Excellence and is the Director on the Board of Molex, Incorporated.
Michael J. Birck is a career patron of former gubernatorial candidate Jim Ryan (R).
From 1993 to 2002, Michael J. Birck contributed $147,000 to candidates for Illinois statewide constitutional and legislative office, all to Republicans.
