*Young Leaders Public Interest Seminar Series

Last week, ICPR completed its second  Young Leaders Public Interest Seminar Series. We're pleased to report that it was a huge success! Our participants learned about a variety of career possibilities in the field of public interest. The panelists provided invaluable insight and advice for young leaders in the making.

It was a wonderful opportunity for ICPR to build support across organizations and for our intern participants to better understand opportunities outside of their internships.

ICPR was flooded with positive feedback and is excited to continue to grow the series next summer. Check out our pictures on Facebook to see our interns in action! We would like to extend a thank you  to our wonderful co-sponsors, the Fry Foundation, the McCormick Foundation, Kirkland & Ellis and the Union League Club of Chicago.

*New Sunshine

Candidates and political committees filed quarterly reports with the State Board of Elections in July, and our website now has all of the records -- electronic and paper, in one seamless database -- for your analysis. We've coded and standardized more than 30,000 lines worth of receipts and expenditures, and updated the fund balances of almost 500 political committees. Now, it's your turn to engage with the data. Click here to see who's giving to whom, and how they're spending it.

*Want an internship at ICPR this fall? Application deadline is this Friday August 5th!

The deadline is fast approaching to apply for a fall internship at ICPR.  We are looking for students who will have an understanding of the political process and an interest in Illinois politics.  Candidates should possess excellent research, writing and interpersonal skills.  ICPR is flexible and willing to work around other obligations though we ask that interns be available for at least 15 hours each week for the duration of the 15 week internship. The internship is set to begin September 6th and end the week of December 16th.

Interested applicants should submit a resume and cover letter to Nelly Viramontes at Nelly@ilcampaign.org.   The deadline for consideration for this internship is August 5th.
