Does Your Vote Count
The Crossroads Fund is sponsoring a post-election program to examine the role of electoral politics in building informed, critical and self-determined communities.  The event, which is cosponsored by ICPR, will be held at HotHouse, 31 East Balbo in Chicago’s south loop on Wednesday, November 17 from 6 pm until 8 pm.  Speakers include George Pillsbury of MassVOTE, Cook County Clerk David Orr, Dorian Warren of the Irving Harris School of Public Policy; Alysia Tate of The Chicago Reporter will moderate the discussion.

A Perfect Union (More or Less)
A new art exhibit, "A Perfect Union… more or less," is now running at the Renaissance Society, 5811 South Ellis in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood.  ICPR collaborated on part of the exhibit: an artistic rendering of money in Illinois politics.  The piece, a 19-foot long work entitled "Intersections (Influence)," graphically plots the paths of money within Illinois’ two most recent successful gubernatorial campaigns.  Much of the information was gleaned from the ICPR-based Sunshine Project.  The exhibit runs through December 19; for more information, contact the Society at www.renaissancesociety.org..

The Race is On
Due to popular demand, ICPR has decided to keep our "Race is On" blog going on www.ilcampaign.org
We'll use this feature to provide periodic updates of the most interesting developments that we find tracking money in Illinois politics. Our most recent posting takes a look at how campaign giving may shape the legislative session.
