Officials Vote to Repeal Chicago’s Soda Tax & Philadelphia Reacts

“After just a few months, Chicago and its surrounding county will no longer have a soda tax.

The Cook County Board of Commissioners voted Wednesday to repeal the tax, confirming earlier reports that a deal had been reached to rescind it.

Although structured differently than the Philadelphia Beverage Tax, the repeal was lauded by the local opposition.”
